Terrafarmers is a time management strategy game with colorful visuals and an original sci-fi-themed storyline concept. Your mission is to use terraforming and create life on barren alien soil, then harvest the resources that the newly created organisms produce and sell them for profit on galactic markets. As you advance throughout the game you will have to terraform and manage new planets, face new challenges, but also benefit from new upgrades.
Though the storyline seems more suitable for adults, the colorful yet simplistic and cartoony visuals make this game look more like the one for kids. As for the gameplay, I was pretty disappointed to notice that it quite lacks the diversity and the comprehensiveness needed to ensure that the players don’t get easily bored by the repetitive tasks they have to accomplish. There’s the same tedious circle of seeding plants which create organisms which produce resources which can be sold, mostly for new upgrades, on every game level.
It started as a promising time management game because of its interesting main theme, but unfortunately I ended up feeling that this game is rather average and dull. In all honesty, the market is saturated of similar time management / resource farming games, and Terrafarmers fails to look attractive enough and to be interesting enough to stand out of the crowd.
